1. Educational purpose

The information on this website is provided for general education about multidisciplinary team care and how complex treatment decisions are reviewed. It is not a substitute for a personal assessment, examination, and plan made by a qualified physician, and it describes no individual case.

2. No guaranteed outcomes

Results vary from person to person. No treatment, and no plan however carefully reviewed, can be guaranteed. A joint decision is a better-reasoned decision, not a certain one: a team of specialists can share the same blind spot, and agreement among them is not evidence. Every intervention has limits and risks, which are discussed individually before consent. Any description of typical courses or results on this site is general and may not apply to your situation.

3. Joint review and revision

A plan produced by a joint review can still need revision. Pathology may differ from the expectation, tissue may heal unpredictably, a step may prove unnecessary, or your circumstances may change. Revision is a normal part of treatment and not evidence that a review failed. Nothing on this site should be read as a recommendation of a particular sequence of treatment in an individual case.

4. Urgent problems

An urgent problem is never delayed for a meeting. If you have difficulty breathing, chest pain, severe pain, fever with spreading redness, a rapidly growing or bleeding lesion, or a wound that is not healing, seek immediate medical attention rather than waiting for a review. For general questions, arrange an assessment with a qualified physician.
